3 days here…

6 days here….

this morning we braced ourselves for a brutal 6am flight as I headed from KC to FL for 3 days to attend and photograph a wedding while Amanda headed straight from KC to MD for a week+ of family/friends visits and some support raising. On Sunday (after the wedding) I’ll be headed from Florida directly to Maryland to join Amanda and the rest of our family! no organized ministry for this trip…just fun and fellowship with friends and family.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

the front-page headline of the Jackson County Advocate newspaper sounds a little super-hero’ish…but we were super excited that we recently made front page headline news with our local county paper. The Jackson Country Advocate produced a nicely done story regarding IHOP’s activities, structure, local and national impact, as well as touching on some of our values behind why we’re doing what we’re doing. Its a nice easy read and a great overview of what we’re a part of and some of the reasons why.

we mysteriously found something sprayed all over the inside of our car upon our return from California. we couldn’t figure out what this mess was right away. then, it seems as if the suspect (see above) rendezvous’d with 120+ interior car temperatures and resulted in explosive activity. …lesson learned…don’t leave cans of unopened soda in a car during summer!

Tomorrow (thursday) we’re headed to Orange County California to spend Thursday-Saturday ministering with friends Sarah Garfinkle and Davis Hill in the Brea, Fullerton, Newport Beach, and Anaheim areas just Southeast of LA. We’ll be focusing on several small (10-15 people) but strategic prayer meetings at various locations throughout the above mentioned cities. We’re very excited to have this invitation from Sarah and Davis and we’re looking forward to meeting up with the rest of their community and seeking the Lord together for radical change in the Southern California and Los Angeles areas!!!

Saturday morning Amanda and I will have a platform to share about who we are, why we’re helping lead the Prayer Movement, and what we’re a part of here in Kansas City. We’ll then spend time ministering to and fellowshipping with many who are attending this Saturday morning prayer and worship gathering.

As it turns out, Sarah and Davis have arranged to bless us with a short vacation after we finish our ministry activities Thursday-Saturday. So, Saturday evening we’ll be slipping away until Tuesday for some R&R down in Newport Beach, CA!!!! The timing on this couldn’t be better — Amanda and I celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary Wednesday May 22nd!

i know we’ve been keeping some of you in suspense,
so with much anticipation, we’re having a…..

leave a comment with your guess and we’ll reveal
the results of the sonogram on TUESDAY, MAY 6TH!

headed to get our 2nd sonogram tomorrow. the first was awesome but mostly inconclusive when it came to gender. apparently sonograms these days are like photo shoots for the unborn. if you go to one of those newer independent ultrasound specialists you’re in for quite an event. they put you up in a suite with leather couches, light refreshments, and project the all the sonogram imaging (including 3D images) on a 6 foot tall screen on the wall and give you a DVD of the whole thing when you leave. this will be FUN!

April showers bring……….wind, hail, and tornado warnings?????
we actually looked up what to do in the midst of a tornado. Wikipedia is great for almost everything. well, we determined that if the local sirens sound that we would take shelter at the northeast corner of our basement and of course bring denali with us. Thankfully, the sirens never sounded…although there was a “twister touchdown” (not a football term) about 10 miles south of us…”close but no cyclone”…we’re all safe here in South KC!
