(St Marc, Haiti)

here’s something new. I recorded audio of Theo and I sharing briefly about our recent trip to Haiti. The audio isn’t that great (turn up your volume) and it’s difficult to describe our entire trip in 25 mins…but its a quick snapshot of why we went and what we saw and did.

January 15, 2008

hey guys, we made it back safely to the US.  we’re in Florida right now and returning to Kansas City a bit later on this afternoon.  we had an amazing time in Haiti, much more details and photos will be unveiled soon.thanks to all who prayed for us and our time.  we really saw God open up some amazing doors and relationships while in Haiti!

we’re leaving Ft Lauderdale Florida for the small island nation of Haiti tomorrow! we’re so excited! we haven’t been international since our honeymoon back 2004 to Europe.

We’re really praying that the Lord will stragetically open up doors for relationships with Haitian pastors and leaders so that we can learn about who they are and what God is doing and saying in the nation of Haiti. Our desire is to serve, pray together, and help carry the spiritual burdens of the Haitian church as we join together with them in prayer, fasting, and seeking the Lord.

there is a possibility that we may be able to visit and minister in the Haitian national jail. We’re asking God to break in with the power of the love of Jesus to those who have so little hope.

Please pray for us as we travel! We will return stateside jan 14th…and we return back to Kansas City January 15th.

blessings!
Steve & Amanda

check out this great 5 minute interview with Jason Upton that was taken at the onething conference last week! Jason Upton is an internationally known worship leader carrying the simple message of the Father’s heart of love, the Sermon on the Mount lifestyle, intimacy with the Father, and freedom in the place of worship and communion with God. Blessings!

happy new year…

January 1, 2008

well, its been about 2 weeks since last posted.
Christmas was awesome…we had our house to ourselves since our best housemates in the world were all travelling visiting family and such. we were pretty low key. we spent some time with our good friends The Wood’s on Christmas morning and we had a great Christmas dinner with Corey Russell and his family.

the past 5 days we hosted 18000+ in downtown Kansas City for our annual onething conference. we didn’t get much sleep, we drove downtown alot, and spent many hours ministering to the thousands of people hungry to encounter God! This year I was in charge of managing the stage crew with good friend Shawn Blanc. We did countless sound checks and band transitions over the 4 day event. We were broadcasting our evening main sessions live on TV in over 200 nations via GodTV (channel 365 on DirecTV network or www.God.tv). It was very exciting to be reaching the nations via TV from the middle of Kansas City! We also had the opportunity to play worship at two main sessions on Saturday. It was another great experience as we were leading a congregation of 10,000+ in worshipping the Lord and seeking His face.

Amanda was helping good friend Sara Kim working the conference green room the entire 5 days. She spent time with and served countless meals, bottles of water, and all kinds of goodies to all the worship teams, conference speakers, and even special guest Jason Upton.

we’re physically exhausted from the 5 day event but we’re feeling freshly awakened spiritually as we begin 2008!
