how are you dealing w/ the excitement…

there are so many exciting things that are seemingly just over the horizon at IHOP-KC.  GodTV is expected to fully land in April, powerful moves of the Holy Spirit, new prayer rooms, new leaders, etc.  Along with all the exciting things often comes people, money, and a larger global platform – all of which we desire to use to spread the Biblical message and truths that we are committed to and fund intercessory missionaries across the world.

but…I’ve been struck with this reality:  NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO GET EXCITED

don’t get me wrong, im all about the exciting stuff…but it’s about more than the exciting stuff happening at IHOP!  I want to experience the exciting stuff, but it would be so easy to get swept into the excitement and begin to lose sight of what we’re first called into: intimacy and fellowship w/ the Lord.  I’m not too excited b/c God has been telling us to lay strong foundations BEFORE the exciting stuff breaks out.  The catch: it feels like the timeframe is short to lay strong foundations.

Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.  Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.  {1 Cor 4:1-2}

I’m convinced that faithfulness and steadiness NOW will lead us into rightly stewarding the exciting things that the Lord may do in the days ahead.
