Tomorrow (thursday) we’re headed to Orange County California to spend Thursday-Saturday ministering with friends Sarah Garfinkle and Davis Hill in the Brea, Fullerton, Newport Beach, and Anaheim areas just Southeast of LA. We’ll be focusing on several small (10-15 people) but strategic prayer meetings at various locations throughout the above mentioned cities. We’re very excited to have this invitation from Sarah and Davis and we’re looking forward to meeting up with the rest of their community and seeking the Lord together for radical change in the Southern California and Los Angeles areas!!!

Saturday morning Amanda and I will have a platform to share about who we are, why we’re helping lead the Prayer Movement, and what we’re a part of here in Kansas City. We’ll then spend time ministering to and fellowshipping with many who are attending this Saturday morning prayer and worship gathering.

As it turns out, Sarah and Davis have arranged to bless us with a short vacation after we finish our ministry activities Thursday-Saturday. So, Saturday evening we’ll be slipping away until Tuesday for some R&R down in Newport Beach, CA!!!! The timing on this couldn’t be better — Amanda and I celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary Wednesday May 22nd!

i know we’ve been keeping some of you in suspense,
so with much anticipation, we’re having a…..

GIRL!!!!!
(we’ll post some sonogram pics soon!)

OR

leave a comment with your guess and we’ll reveal
the results of the sonogram on TUESDAY, MAY 6TH!

headed to get our 2nd sonogram tomorrow. the first was awesome but mostly inconclusive when it came to gender. apparently sonograms these days are like photo shoots for the unborn. if you go to one of those newer independent ultrasound specialists you’re in for quite an event. they put you up in a suite with leather couches, light refreshments, and project the all the sonogram imaging (including 3D images) on a 6 foot tall screen on the wall and give you a DVD of the whole thing when you leave. this will be FUN!

April showers bring……….wind, hail, and tornado warnings?????
we actually looked up what to do in the midst of a tornado. Wikipedia is great for almost everything. well, we determined that if the local sirens sound that we would take shelter at the northeast corner of our basement and of course bring denali with us. Thankfully, the sirens never sounded…although there was a “twister touchdown” (not a football term) about 10 miles south of us…”close but no cyclone”…we’re all safe here in South KC!

we had a regular mid-wives visit today at the local birthing center. apparently our baby is sitting so low that it makes Amanda have to pee like once or twice an hour. the Midwife said the baby is using Amanda’s bladder as a trampoline! i can’t imagine what that must be like. we thought Amanda may have had a bladder infection…come to find out it’s just our baby getting some exercise with the aid of Amanda’s bladder…intense!

hopefully we will pick up the posting soon!

worth checking out, very interesting take on Darwinism, Intelligent Design, science, education, and alot in between…

this weekend I’ll (steve) be flying back to Bowie, MD to pick up a pick-up truck that was graciously donated to Amanda and I by my aunt Terri and uncle Sack.  This is an awesome testimony of the Lord’s provision in our lives since we had been praying for a vehicle to replace our 95 Toyota Camry before our baby comes in August.

Without even asking supporters, friends, and family for special financial donations or gifts, God provided a vehicle!  God is good.

So, I’ll be flying into Baltimore on Thursday morning, spending time with family Thursday and Friday and then making the 22hr drive from DC to KC beginning sometime Saturday!

here’s baby Maybe.

Baby Maybe

Yesterday we had our sonogram to see what the gender of our baby is.  To our surprise we still don’t really know.  Baby Maybe, as our friend Kaitlyn so apptly named it, was so comfortably curled up in the fetal position the sonographer could not get a good shot.  She said she thinks it’s a girl, but “don’t go painting the room pink or anything.”  She did not seem convinced and nor were we.  So we’ll keep waiting and maybe in a month or so will get another sonogram to verify.  On the otherhand, it was super fun seeing the frame of this little child the Lord is creating.  I can’t believe I have a human growing in me.  That’s crazy!  Anyway, to see more pictures of baby Maybe check out our baby blog.  Otherwise we’ll keep you posted as we find out more details.  -Amanda

hey there, we’ll be going about 3 hours south with Corey Russell and team back down to Alma, Arkansas to minister at a gathering of local churches for the weekend (Fri-Sun). Please pray for us that the Lord would give us the words to speak and hearts that are in alignment with what the Holy Spirit is saying and doing in Arkansas!
